Celebrating A New Release In Sara Brookes' Rebirth Series

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the release of FORGED IN FIRE, the third book in Sara Brookes' Rebirth Series.
Sara Brookes is a multi-published author who has always been fascinated by the strange, the unusual, the twisted and the lost (tortured heroes are her personal favorite). She is an action movie junkie, addicted to coffee and has been known to stay up until the wee hours of the morning playing RPG video games. Despite all this, she is a romantic at heart and is always a sucker for an excellent love story. Born and bred in Virginia, Sara still lives there with her husband and daughter. The entire family is owned by two cats, Galahad and Loki, who graciously allow the family to cater to their every desire.

FORGED IN FIRE by Sara Brookes
Rebirth Series Book Three
As vampire Evande Austin tries to adjust to her newfound abilities, she can't fight her new reality. She never intended to fall in love with two men. But she also never intended to take Fae blood to keep her alive either. Trouble lurks in the shadows and Evande fears she will not be able to control the raging blood fever that burns through her because of Quinn. Thanks to Logan, the man who gives her anchor, Evande is able to maintain a thread of sanity in the blinding chaos.
When the Elders strike out and her future tumbles around her feet, Evande realizes the two men give her a bond she is unable to survive without. They need her just as much as she needs them. Giving into them both could just be the one thing that saves everyone.

But one thing remains clear - nothing comes without a cost.

  1. Good morning Sara and super congrats on the new release!

I just read the first chapter and love your heroine and can't wait to read more!

For those of us not familiar with your Rebirth series, can you tell us a bit about it and how the books in the series connect?

The books sound really dark, do you think they fit into the newly popular erotic horror genre?

Enjoy your cyber launch party and I hope your new book FORGED IN FIRE is your biggest seller yet!!!

  2. Thank you so much for having me!

Let's see, the Rebirth series is the story of a war brewing between vampires and the Fae here on Earth. Thing is, while there's a large group of vamps that fall under the leadership of the Elders, there are only two Fae. The first book in the series, Flash of Dark, is about one of those Fae and her assignment while she's here. Only, you know its not that easy, right? *g* She has a human interested in her even though she's sworn off all contact. But he's persistant. The second book, Blood Fever, switches gears a little with characters on the other side of the lens from Flash of Dark and we get to see what happens when one of the vampires breaks one of the Elders laws. Oh and did I mention that vampire just happens to be the former lover of the other Fae member here on Earth? And she heads right for him when she's in trouble after turning a human. Which creates a big mess as he's still in love with her. Can you say three's a crowd? But those Elders just aren't going to sit idly by and simply watch, and that's where Forged in Fire comes into play as everything comes to a head.

Oh, I would love if they were erotic horror, as the idea intrigues me so much. But while this series is dark, I don't think they'd scare the pants off of you which is how I define that genre. Oh, but they would probably make you need a cold shower!

  9. Thank you SiNn, Jean P & Stacie: Thank you!

@SiNn, I would tell a reader or aspiring author that if they're in the mood for a pulse pounding ride with plenty of action, danger, mystery and smokin' hot romances, this is definitely the series for you!

  11. Hey there lindseye! I adore series. Right now, out of all my released and upcoming books, there is only one book that is not part of a series. I have the next book in the Rebirth series planned already, but I'm currently working on book 2 and 3 of my contemporary erotic romance series in order to get them out next. Thanks for stopping by!

  12. I have seen a few blog posts recently about horror/erotica books. You say that your book is scary but not horror. Where do you draw the line between the two? Thanks for the giveaway.

  14. What a great sounding series, Sara! Congrats on book three--and glad to hear you have more planned! Do you tend to decide up front how many books it'll take you to finish a series, or do you just let the muse lead?

  15. Jen, Taryn, Maybelle and fichen1 Thanks for stopping by!

@Jen I wouldn't say they're scary, but my character in this series certainly aren't afraid to get bloody and do some real damage to people when it's required. Scary, to me, is something akin to a thriller. It keeps me on the edge of my seat in suspense wondering what's around the corner. Horror can do the same, but doesn't skimp on all out gore. It's in your face terror that will scare the pants off you.

@fichen1 Most of the time, yes, I know ahead of time how long a series arc will last. I have a sci-fi/futuristic series that I knew from the beginning would be three books set. The Rebirth series has been a little more organic. Which simply means, I know the ending but know it's may take a book or two more to tell that story.

  19. Danielle, annalisa & June M Thanks for stopping by and helping me celebrate!

@ June Oh, I could go on all day about favorite vamp book or movie. But since I have to choose, I'm going to have to say Lost Boys for movie. I was a teen when it released and it was one of my very first exposures to vampires on the big screen. To this day, if I come across it playing on TV, I will stop and watch even though I own it on DVD. *g*
