Celebrating A New Honeybun Cousins Release For Sam Cheever

Today on our Cyber LaunchParty Blog we're celebrating the release of HONEYBUN SHEIK, book two in Sam Cheever's new Honeybun Cousins Series.

Sam writes fast paced fantasy and romantic fiction with feisty characters who deal with life's little challenges in unique and often hilarious ways. As a reader Sam is very impatient. She quickly loses interest if a story doesn't have a good pace and snappy dialogue. Sam's inability to focus in a backwash of human angst and subtleties works out well for her readers, since she writes the way she likes to read.

In her real life, Sam lives on a hobby farm in Indiana with 10 dogs, 4 horses, 2 barn cats, 2 daughters, and one husband. Not necessarily in that order.

HONEYBUN SHEIK by Sam Cheever

Book 2 in the Honeybun Cousins series

Callia Honeybun wants nothing more than a chance to rest up and heal from a bad breakup. Trained in weaponry and the martial arts, Callia is nobody's victim. However, when she crashes her snowmobile during a blizzard and wakes up in the chalet of a gorgeous man with a middle eastern accent, she has no idea how dangerous her day is about to become.

Abdel Ezzat is being hunted. He's determined to avoid entanglements. But he can't just ignore the beautiful black woman he finds lying unconscious in the snow. He quickly discovers his new houseguest is strangely unwilling to let him "protect" her. And as much as he tries to ignore her skills and treat her like a lady, he soon realizes he just might need her to stay alive!

  3. Hey Sam - Super congrats on the new Honeybun story! Is this your first Honeybun heroine? How fun that she ends up protecting him!

For those who don't know about your Honeybun Cousins series, can you tell us a bit about them and how the books connect to each other as well as your wildly popular Honeybun Hunks Series?

Hope the new book is a huge bestseller and I can't wait to read it!

  4. Hey DeNita!

This is a fun story line. You can imagine how conflicted a sexy sheik would be, when he's forced to rely on a woman to save his fine butt! And Callia, like the rest of the Honeybuns, just refuses to be pushed safely to the side! #:0) Great stuff.

This is book 2 in the Honeybun Cousins series. I started the series due to pressure for even more Honeybun fun from fans (and my publisher - who said, "can't you dredge up some long lost relatives or something?" Har! #:0) These books are shorter, around 20k and a little hotter than the Hunks and I plan to make them all IR stories.

I'll be releasing them in between the Hunks books. Book 5 of the Honeybun Hunks, Honeybun in a Loin Cloth, will release around August of this year and I expect to have Book 6, Honeybun at a Dude Ranch, out by the end of 2011, early 2012. Somewhere in there I'll release Book 3 of the Cousins. As you can see, I'll be very busy!

Thanks for helping me share Callia and Abdel with the cyber world!

  6. Hey Anny!!!! Thanks for stopping by. What a nice surprise.

DeNita - Yes! This is my first female Honeybun. The interaction between her and the Honeybun boys is fun...you can imagine what it would be like to be a female relative among all those uber-protective males. Har!

  8. Hey Cathy!

Thanks for stopping by! There will be 8 books in the Hunks series, one for each brother. The cousins I'm not sure...less than 8 probably.

    Happy reading!

  10. Congrats on the new release. I can say I just read the A Honeybun and Coffee, and it was amazing! I can happily say I'd recommend it to all of my friends who like to read, I am sure this new book will be just as good.

  11. Hey amyer23!

Stuff just pops into my head at the weirdest times. A name I like will inspire me (thus the Honeybun series! #:0). A news story will get the creative juices flowing, or a book or a movie will put ideas in my head. In fact, these days, the hard part is slowing down the ideas...snorf! They just keep on comin'!

    Thanks for stopping by!

  12. Hey Tiffany! Thanks for stopping by! The Cousins books are a little shorter and slightly hotter than the Hunks books but each Cousins book has appearances from one or two characters from the Hunks series and they have the same "Honeybun" flavor. They're just as much fun!

  13. Here's another little taste:

Abdel watched her sleep. As he’d suspected, she was American, with the easy way of speaking and lack of modesty he found so endearing in the women of the country. The women in his native country, Saudi Arabia, though they were slowly beginning to assimilate in the world, were still so isolated, so quietly afraid.

He frowned, hating that they had reason to be afraid.

Changes were needed. Eventually they would come, he was working toward that end, but he knew that centuries of tradition and discrimination would be hard to overturn. All he could do was continue to chip away at it, working it around the edges, until something more palatable awaited a female entering into that world.

It would probably take a few centuries more.

The woman whimpered in her sleep, her eyelids twitching as if she were having a dream. Abdel glanced around the room to ensure that he was alone before reaching out to touch her hair, pushing it off her cheek. Her skin was like silk and her hair was black satin.

His loins stirred just from touching her. And her scent. God, she was delectable.

Abdel stood up and paced away from her. He knew it would be dangerous having a beautiful woman in his chalet. He’d made a vow to himself that he would not pursue easy physical pleasures months earlier, when he’d converted to Christianity and vowed to show by example how women should be treated.

Living in America, where women were generally outgoing and comfortable in their own skin, his vow was proving difficult, to say the least. Abdel walked over and poured himself a brandy, swirling the rich liquid in the glass as he stood before the large window overlooking the mountainside.
Snow fell in steady sheets outside, obscuring everything behind a curtain of white. Abdel sipped his brandy and tried to forget he had a beautiful woman in his chalet. The tight coil of lust in his belly made that a difficult task indeed.
