Celebrating Marie Treanor's WOLF HUNT Release

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating a new Changeling Press release, WOLF HUNT, a collection of Marie Treanor's four Wolf Hunt novellas.

Marie was born and bred in Scotland, but for some years moved around the UK working and studying. Now she's back home and happily married with three young children.
Having grown bored with city life, her family lives in a picturesque village by the sea where, instead of working for a living, Marie is lucky enough to be able to enjoy herself writing stories of romance and fantasy.

She draws the inspiration for her books mainly from the people around her and from Scotland's rich history and culture - with, of course, large helpings of fun and imagination!

WOLF HUNT COLLECTION - by Marie Treanor

Who's hunting whom?

A man wakes up naked and alone in a city doorway -- with no memory of how he got there or who he is. For journalist Rose Winter, a wolf story begins to converge with the sexy naked man she's trying to help. And a chain of events is set in motion that may change Earth's future...

Human-wolf hybrids, created by a top secret government project, have been released into the world to find and destroy alien infiltrators. But once these soldiers begin to think for themselves, their missions are complicated by attraction, sex and divided loyalties.

Publisher's Note: This collection contains the previously released novellas Urban Wolf, Forest Wolf, Cry for the Moon, and Galactic Wolf.

  1. Happy Release Day Marie!!!

I'm so happy Changeling Press put all your Wolf Hunt books together in one collection!

For those not familiar with your WOLF HUNT series, can you tell us a little bit about the series and how the books fit together? And do you plan on any more in the series?

And congrats - just heard your April release BLOOD SIN is now available to pre-order!!! WOO HOO!!!

Enjoy your special day and best of luck with the release!

  2. Thanks, DeNita!

Yes, it's great to have them all together in pne volume! Apart from being a bit cheaper, it means readers can read the whole story all at once :)

Wolf Hunt is a futuristic werewolf tale about Earth threatened by alien invasion. The original trilogy was Urban Wolf, Forest Wolf and Galactic Wolf, each stories in their own right, featuring different couples who come together to save themselves as well as two desperate species.

Each novella is set in the same world and follows the same broad plot line, with each story taking events a bit further on. We get glimpses of the same characters in each of them too.

Cry for the Moon is slightly different - it's a short Christmas story, set in the same world, before things come to a head in Galactic Wolf.

Thanks for mentioning BLOOD SIN! That's pretty exciting too! It's the first sequel to BLOOD ON SILK. Release date is 5th April, but as you say it's available for pre-order now at Amazon etc :)

  3. Congratulations on your collection. Do you have to read the books in order or are they stand alone reads?

  4. Thanks, Sherry! Each story is complete, but I think it would make most sense to read them in the order they're in in the Collection: Urban Wolf, Forest Wolf, Cry for the Moon, and finally Galactic Wolf.

  5. I love shifters!! Very interesting how you combine science fiction with a shifter story don't think I've read anything like that before. What challanges did that give you?

And do you have any other shifter stories?

  9. Hi Katie! I don't remember feeling particularly challenged, to be honest. It was just the story in my head :). I have written several other shifters - werewolves in CITY OF THE DANED, dragons in DRAGUL RISING, a swan in SWAN SONG, a water man in COOL POOL. And even a crash test dummy in KILLING JOE although he wasn't quite a shifter as such :).

Hi Tracey! Thanks, I have some beautiful covers, don't I? :). They've been done by lots of different artists. Sahara Kelly did the Wolf Hunt one.

Thanks, Estella! I think that's what werewolves must be: human-wolf hybrids. The difference is in how they came to be: an ancient race, a radiation accident or, as in WOLF HUNT, a deliberate military project. It's fun to think about because their origins myst deternine their personality to some extent, and how much they remember of human existence when they're wolves.

  12. Morning, Monica! That's great to hear! So glad you liked it, and now it's only a couple of months until BLOOD SIN :).

In WOLF HUNT, you'll see brief cameos of the earlier main characters in the subsequent novellas. Except CRY FOR THE MOON.

I have several series in my head, and very little time to write any of them right now! But I hope to settle down to a major writing session in the next month or so and then I'll be able to tell you more about it :). Thanks for asking!
